OpenID for Verifiable Presnetationsの新しいImplementer's draftのPublic Reviewが始まりました

IIWや、その前日のOpenID Foundation Workshopでも取り上げられていたとおり、OpenID for Verifiable Presentationsの新たなImplementer's draftのPublic Review期間に入りました。

主な更新はこちら

1. Introduces the Digital Credentials Query Language; this is an alternative to Presentation Exchange
2. Introduces the transaction data mechanism that enables a binding between the user's identification/authentication and the user’s authorization, for example to complete a payment transaction, or to sign specific document(s) using QES (Qualified Electronic Signatures).
3. Removes the client_id_scheme parameter and instead makes the client id scheme a prefix on the client_id; this addresses a security issue with the previous solution.

1. デジタル・クレデンシャル・クエリ・ランゲージ（Digital Credentials Query Language）を導入。
2. トランザクション・データ・メカニズムを導入し、ユーザの識別/認証とユーザの認可の間のバインディングを可能にする（例えば、支払いトランザクションの完了や、QES（Qualified Electronic Signatures）を使用した特定の文書への署名など）。
3. client_id_schemeパラメータを削除し、代わりにクライアントIDスキームをclient_idのプレフィックスとする。

年内に承認されそうですね。実装中の皆さんは対応方針を考えておきましょう。

GAIN Pocの第2シーズンはOpenID for Verifiable Credential Issuanceにフォーカスされます

OpenID Foundationや関係団体（Cloud Signature Consortium、GLEIF、IIF、OIX、その他関係する機関や個人）はグローバルで相互運用可能なアイデンティティ保証に関するネットワークに根ざしたエコシステムの達成を目指してGAIN（Global Assured Identity Network）の名のもと活動を行ってきました。

2023年、OpenID FoundationはGAIN POC Community Groupを組成して、主にOpenID Connect for Identity AssuranceとOpenID Federationをテクノロジースタックとしてどのように適用できるかについて検討を進めてきました。

その結果がGAIN in 2023というホワイトペーパーとして発行されています。

もちろん先に掲げた大きな目標については一朝一夕で達成されるわけではないため、継続的な議論や技術研究が必要になるわけですが、最近OpenID Foundationから2024年の取り組みについて発表がありました。

GAIN Community Group: An Update

発表によると、2024年はOpenID for Verifiable Credential Issuanceにフォーカスしており、既にMeeco、Talao、Datevのウォレットを使ってIETF SD-JWT VCを発行できることの確認ができています。

今後はOpenID for Verifiable Presentationsへの展開、Open Identity Exchangeとの協業によるOpenID Federationとの組み合わせでのIssuerの信頼性の確立に向けた取り組みが続けられるということですので引き続き要注目ですね。

Presentation Exchange v2.1のWorking Group Approvalに到達しました

OpenID for Verifiable Presentationsでも利用されているPresentation Exchangeのversion 2.1がDecentralized Identity Foundation（DIF）のWorking Group Approvalのステージに到達したようです。着々と進んでいるようですね。

DIFの仕様の開発ステップがこちらに定義されています。Final Approvalの一つ手前ですね。

何が追加されたのか？についてDIFのNews letterには以下の記載があります。

Security Enhancements: We have introduced a "Security Considerations" section, helping users navigate the security implications of the exchange more effectively.

Expanded Use Cases: A new "Use Cases" section has been added. This aims to broaden the understanding and applicability of the Presentation Exchange, providing examples and scenarios where it can be implemented.

Editorial Improvements: To further enhance the readability and clarity of the documentation, we have made various editorial changes throughout the text.

セキュリティの強化： セキュリティに関する考慮事項」のセクションを導入し、交換のセキュリティへの影響をより効果的にナビゲートできるようになりました。

使用例の拡大： 使用例」のセクションが追加されました。これは、Presentation Exchangeの理解と適用範囲を広げることを目的としており、Presentation Exchangeを実装できる例やシナリオを提供しています。

編集の改善： ドキュメントの読みやすさとわかりやすさをさらに向上させるため、本文全体にわたってさまざまな編集上の変更を加えました。
